Units being damages and still fighting at full strength has been discussed to death, revived, rekilled, and had its horse beaten until the horse made its way through the earth to china. One's light cav that teleports about while shooting flank shots with no fear of reprisal, and the other is heavy cav that charges and uses its guns as an opening strike. You really notice the difference between elven dreadnought cavalry and human dreadnought cavalry for example. Racial traits have been expanded upon alot however. Largely because said differences aren't readily apparent. Unit diversity is better than people give it credit for. I haven't heard, but yeah, not the best I've ever heard.

If you ask me, alot of this is because the game doesn't make its depth as readily apparent. I have no desire to really play it again. Overall I just found myself to be disappointed. The city management was bad - producing 1 structure or 1 unit at a time is boring and out-dated. They all have identical prototype units: calvalry, pikemen, flyers, etc. Most spells - especially siege spells are basically useless.Įvery race feels the same. The focus on hero spells has been completely removed. The placement in the battle mode is really bad.

For example, unit stacks that have been severely injured (you know how a group starts with 6 guys, then 5 of them die after taking damage) still do full damage. The attention to detail and fine tuning that I come to expect from AoW games is gone. First, the music wasnt nearly as epic as the Aow1&2 games.

When a game is bad, it's hard to simply sum-up why it was bad.
